AD – A Little Sun E.P

Denmark’s Kraken Recordings play a crafty card from AD with his ‘A Little Sun EP’. The clipped samples and halfstep swing of the title cut strangely feels like an inverted Footwork tune – you expect a double timed freakout but it never comes. Cool stuff. ‘Kick A Hole In The Speaker’ and ‘In The Shadows’ meanwhile remind of older Hatcha or D1 ’06 styles with tense drum programming and a mucky subbass swoop, then there’s the bandy-legged stagger of ‘Recon’ on some freaked out Kromestar flex.
